Hero/Leader-Friendly Business Culture

The saying “Heroes Are Made, Not Born” points to something. It points to the influences acting on someone, and it says that those influences are largely responsible for the actions of the individual. So, let’s just say that there is at least some truth in that.

Yes, you also need to have the right people who are ready to take action delivering what’s needed when it is made clear. But first, you need to make sure that those people aren’t tied down putting out fires and handling your own business emergencies that distract them from the important work of moving your business forward. It’s worth spending the time to “sharpen your saw” and have your internal infrastructure habits, systems and procedures aligned and congruent with the level of success you really want.

So how do you know if you have that right now or not? By the results. Look at your bottom line-do you like what you see? That’s what the current design of your business and culture is producing. If it’s not working, consider investing in building the infrastructure to deliver what you want. Otherwise, you may be demonstrating the old adage of doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
