Meeting Structure

How you run meetings in your company can make all the difference in the world. When you have a meeting, you send a message that whatever occurs therein is more important. So, if it’s a well run meeting with the right focus and momentum, you can set the tone for the following week, drive issues to discussion, solve problems, have a learning environment. All of which, trains attendees in the kind of leadership you need everywhere.

The challenges I see is, people try to look at too much information at one time, using as many as 5 to 10 spreadsheets per person, causing information overload. Or, allowing a lot of unnecessary conversation and storytelling. All of which, contributes to a very long meeting.

Keep it short, tightly focused, and to the point.
